How to Draw a Bicycle

Step 1: Draw the wheels

Start by drawing two big circles side by side.

These will be the wheels of the bicycle.

Make them the same size and leave some space between them.

Don’t worry about making them perfect. Just keep them round and smooth.

These circles are like the base of your bicycle!

Step 2: Sketch the frame

Now, let’s draw the frame!

Draw a straight line connecting the top of the front wheel to the top of the back wheel. This will be the top tube of the frame.

Then, draw another line from the bottom of the front wheel to the middle of the back wheel. This will be the down tube.

Finally, draw a diagonal line from the middle of the back wheel up to the top tube. This will be the seat tube. Now your bicycle has a sturdy frame!

Step 3: Add the seat and handlebars

Time to add the seat and handlebars!

At the top of the seat tube, draw a small triangle for the seat.

Make it pointy at the back and flat at the front. Then, at the top of the front wheel, draw a curved line that looks like a smile or a rainbow.

This will be the handlebars. Make it wide enough so it looks like you can grip it easily.

Step 4: Draw the pedals

Now, let’s add the pedals!

Near the bottom of the frame, where the down tube and seat tube meet, draw two small circles side by side. These will be the pedals.

Then, draw two lines connecting the pedals to the frame.

These lines will be the crank arms. Make sure the pedals look like they’re ready to be pushed!

Step 5: Sketch the chain and chainring

Next, let’s add the chain and chainring! Draw a small circle near the pedals.

This will be the chainring. Then, draw a bigger circle around the back wheel. This will be the rear sprocket.

Connect the chainring and the rear sprocket with two curved lines to show the chain.

Make it look like it’s looping around the gears.

Step 6: Add details to the wheels

Now, let’s make the wheels look real! Inside each wheel, draw a smaller circle for the hub.

Then, draw straight lines from the hub to the edge of the wheel to make the spokes.

Add some curved lines around the edge of the wheels to show the tire treads.

Bicycles have strong wheels, so make them look sturdy and ready to roll!

Step 7: Draw the brake cables and gear shifters

Time to add some final details! Near the handlebars, draw two thin lines going down to the front wheel.

These will be the brake cables. Then, draw a small rectangle or circle near the handlebars for the gear shifters.

Bicycles have lots of little parts, so feel free to get creative!

Step 8: Add shading and coloring.

Now it’s time to bring your bicycle to life with colors! Use bright colors like red, blue, or green for the frame. Here’s how:

  • Frame: Color the frame a bright color like red or blue. Add some darker shading along the edges to make it look 3D.
  • Wheels: Color the tires black and the spokes silver or gray.
  • Seat and Handlebars: Make the seat and handlebars black or dark gray.
  • Chain and Chainring: Color the chain and chainring silver or gray.

Add some shading or patterns if you want to make your bicycle look even more realistic.

Have fun with it!

You’ve successfully learned how to draw a bicycle! Keep practicing and soon, you’ll be able to create all sorts of bicycles, from cruisers to mountain bikes. Great job!
